Demna’s debut live runway for Gucci at Milan Fashion Week hit the ground running. Titled “Primavera” (Spring), the Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection leaned straight into pure, unapologetic emotion rather than high-concept streetwear.
Demna went all-in on body-conscious cuts, high-gloss fabrics, and pure late-90s edge for Gucci’s FW 2026/27 runway.
Body-Shrink Silhouettes
Baggy fits took a back seat. The core of the collection relied on super-fitted, second-skin pieces:
- The “Club-to-Pilates” Aesthetic: Elastic tube dresses, body-hugging compression tops, and sheer lace bodystockings dominated.
- Seamless Engineering: The brand leaned into heat-sealed edges and curved hems to make garments cling as tightly as possible to the body.
- Extreme Backless Cuts: High-shine gowns and slinky evening dresses featured dramatic low-cut backs—most famously capped off by Kate Moss in a floor-length dress flashing a bedazzled Double-G g-string.
Sharp & Fluid Tailoring
Even with all the skin, the tailoring brought balance:
- High-sheen suit jackets with broad, sharp shoulders paired with fluid, hip-cut trousers.
- Deep burgundy and auburn fur-collared outerwear layer over minimal underpieces.
- Tailored leather pencil skirts and sharp trench coats mixed heavy structured leather with light, flowing underlayers.
Menswear Shift
The guys’ side was just as bold, leaning into provocative, nightlife-ready pieces:
- Muscle-tees in high-gloss satin paired with light-wash denim.
- Barefoot models in sequined pyjama sets for eveningwear.
- Ultra-tight compression polo shirts and twisted graphic tops paired with cropped shorts.
Color & Texture
The palette stuck to dark realism mixed with glossy pops: graphite grays, deep burgundies, stark whites, oil-slick blacks, and metallic sheens. Fabrics prioritized shine—think satins, patent leathers, sheer tulles, and reflective ribbing that caught the runway lights with every step.
